Scholarships

Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarships

 

Scholarships are the number one tool used to recruit high-achieving students to the University of Utah. A desired goal of the University of Utah Strategy Refresh 2025 is to increase overall student enrollment by 21 percent, to 40,000 students, all while maintaining high academic standards and readiness. Scholarships help the University compete for highly qualified students.

Need-Based Scholarships

 

As the state’s flagship institution, with the goal to not only be the University of Utah, but also the University for Utah, we seek to provide scholarships to prom- ising students who otherwise may not be able to afford a college degree.
 
Our signature access scholarship program, the For Utah Scholarship Program, provides deserving students a full tuition and fees scholarship for four years. Recipients must be Utah residents, hold a 3.2 high school GPA, be first-time, full-time freshmen, and qualify for Pell Grant funding.

Graduate Fellowships

 

The University offers competitive fellowships for graduate students in Masters and PhD programs, and seeks to grow the number of university-wide fellowships to recruit outstanding graduate students. Fellowships typically cover all or a portion of tuition and can include additional research or living stipends.

Create a Scholarship

There are a number of ways in which you can support students through scholarships. Name an endowed or annual scholarship, set your own criteria.

 

An annual scholarship can be created with a gift of $2,000 or more. To ensure continued support for students, it is recommended to give annually to the fund or establish a multi-year pledge.
