Back to School

With the start of a new school year at the University of Utah, I have the privilege of welcoming a new class of students. Our incoming first-year class is big, bright, and bursting with potential.

At this time of year, I am also reminded that this is a university doing important work, making things happen, solving problems, and attracting talent and national attention. We are on the rise, and people all around the country see that. The secret is out. This is Utah’s time.

Aside from welcoming new students, one of my other favorite jobs in my new role as chief alumni relations officer of the U is meeting with our alumni, donors, and community partners and hearing about how we can build a better university and world.

We thank you for your past thoughtful giving. Your generosity has made a tangible difference, and we are immensely grateful for your support.

The U in the past year closed a record-breaking capital campaign, increased housing on campus, added to our national athletic prowess, developed innovative community access and belonging programs, launched a thriving Forever Utah alumni network, and increased research dollars. This could not be accomplished without you.

To achieve our vision of becoming a top 10 public university with unsurpassed societal impact, we must re-imagine how we inspire, innovate and impact – and we need you. As a proud U supporter, you play an integral, ongoing role in our success.

Join me, other alumni, faculty, and university friends by making a gift to help us imagine more for our university. I invite you to give generously — for our students and future leaders, arts and culture, research and cures, for all Utahns, and for our world.

Your generosity is essential to helping the university in achieving our goals and preparing our students and future leaders of tomorrow.
