Nura Mostaghimi ’23 and Ethan Dinunzio ’24

This fall, the University of Utah welcomed new and returning students to campus. Including students like Nura and Ethan who rely on scholarships to achieve their dreams and make the most of their student journey at the U.

“Scholarship help is very powerful,” said Nura Mostaghimi, Health, Society, and Policy student and Solutions Scholarship recipient. “Financial means are huge for students who are navigating their way into their adult life and needing those types of resources to get them through education.”

Your support helps students like Nura to explore their passions, learn skills, and add their unique experiences and voices to the world.

Nura has a passion for helping others, leading her to be involved with ASUU student government, internships, tutoring peers, volunteering, and studying in her field of Health, Society, and Policy.

“I’ve always been passionate about finding a way to be a small individual to make a big difference in any cause,” Mostaghimi said. “I feel like I can make a difference in being able to provide health to those communities in a way that’s equitable, fair, just, and of good quality.”

Nura has been a part of the university’s Connect 2 Health program where she got exposure and real-life experience in various clinics and hospitals. She provides care and resources to others, all while asking herself how she can do more and improve health care for all community members. Nura has a passion for blending her policy and hands-on health care experiences – making the U and its interdisciplinary courses the perfect fit.

“I have a really big heart, I think. I just love the opportunity of living in a world where we can make it better,” Mostaghimi said.

A scholarship to the University of Utah, made possible by donors like you, enables students to discover how they can have an impact and give back to their communities.

Ethan Dinunzio is a Utah native, recipient of the For Utah Scholarship, studying his passions of finance and psychology. His inspiration is his hardworking dad. Ethan wants to be just as or even more successful than him, and thinks he can achieve it because of the professors, peers, classes, and resources at the U.

“Honestly, the scholarship brought me to the U,” Dinunzio said. “I wouldn’t have actually gone to the U if I didn’t get this For Utah Scholarship.”

The For Utah Scholarship provides full tuition financial support for eight semesters for financially and academically qualified students from Utah. “The For Utah Scholarship really makes a difference in my life because it relieves a lot of financial stress off my parents that have really strived for me to be here. And it just makes it so that I get the opportunity that I may not have gotten,” Dinunzio said.

Receiving a scholarship allows Ethan to chase his dreams of making the world a more equitable place while building his network at the U. And following inspiration from his dad to work hard, build a successful career, and be a part of a larger community.

Help current and future students like Nura and Ethan, to empower their University of Utah education to make a positive change in their communities and the world.

“It’s been a real privilege to be able to receive scholarships. And I hope one day I can reach a place of financial stability where I can give back in the same way, because it really makes a big difference.”
