Huntington’s disease is a rare, inherited disease that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in different regions of the brain, resulting in movement, cognitive, and psychiatric disorders.
If you have Huntington’s disease, you can develop emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric abnormalities. You can also lose intellectual or cognitive functioning and movement abnormalities (motor disturbances).
