Who is calling me?

University of Utah students at the Student Philanthropy and Engagement Center (SPEC) show our school pride by making connections on and off campus. From the Advancement Office, located in the John and Maria Price Theatre Arts Building on campus, we make outbound calls to update records (update yours here), build relationships, share campus updates, and ask for philanthropic support to causes and projects at the U. Our team of 60 student callers enable alumni, donors, parents, and friends of the university community to make a difference anywhere at the U that they are passionate about.

Because the University of Utah receives only a small portion of its budget from the state, other revenue sources, including tuition, grants, and private gifts, are critical in bridging the gap. Individual gifts quickly add up and impact the high-quality education with distinguished faculty and a signature Utah student experience.

Answering a SPEC student call is an opportunity to make a difference for students, research, health care, the arts, and the greater University of Utah and University of Utah Health community.

The U accepts gifts from donor-advised funds (DAFs), which offer an easy-to-establish, low-cost, flexible vehicle for charitable giving. This is accomplished by first establishing a DAF with an irrevocable donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program. The donor then recommends the allocation of the donated assets to a qualified public charity (such as the University of Utah).

To recommend a gift from a Fidelity Charitable or Schwab Charitable donor-advised fund, enter the gift designation and amount of the gift in this form to get started.

If you have additional questions about recommending gifts via donor-advised funds, please contact the Gift Services team.
