Need & Merit Based Scholarship Matching Opportunity
As an institution, our goal has always been to reach, recruit, and retain the best and brightest students. When you give to scholarships, you offer a student the support they need to pursue their dream of higher education and maximize their career opportunities. Both merit and need-based scholarships are critical components to success as the university seeks to increase overall student enrollment plus maintain high academic standards, affordability, and access for those who otherwise might not be able to afford a high-quality college education.
Further the impact of your donation by taking advantage of a match for undergraduate scholarships. Donors who commit to either a multi-year annual scholarship commitment or an endowed scholarship, for either merit or need-based recipients, can take advantage of matching funds to reach even more students.
Annual Scholarship Incentive
Annual scholarships of $2,000 or more per year, established with a four-year pledge, are eligible for a 50% match each year. Here is an example of a $40,000, multi-year annual scholarship pledge:
Donations | Matching | Total Awarded | |
---|---|---|---|
Year 1 | $10,000 | $5,000 | $15,000 |
Year 2 | $10,000 | $5,000 | $15,000 |
Year 3 | $10,000 | $5,000 | $15,000 |
Year 4 | $10,000 | $5,000 | $15,000 |
Endowment Scholarship Incentive
The endowed scholarship incentive offers an impactful way to start supporting our deserving students as soon as the scholarship is established and until your pledge commitment is fulfilled. The university will “match” and begin awarding your scholarship in the first year of pledge payments, all while you are building up a lasting legacy of support. Your scholarship award (approximately 4% of the total endowed fund value) will be awarded to students on an annual basis, using university funds, until your endowed pledge is fulfilled. Endowed scholarships exist in perpetuity, offering lasting, transformative education opportunities to our students. Here is an example of a $50,000 endowment pledge, paid out over five years:
Pledge Payments | Est. Expendable | Match from University | Award to Student | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Year 1 | $10,000 | 0 | $2,000 | $2,000 |

With either an endowed or annual scholarship, donors may name the scholarship after
themselves, their family, or in honor of a loved one.
“My scholarship has helped my family and me drastically in ways I couldn’t even begin to describe. Having a scholarship allows me to focus completely on school and engage in more extracurriculars on campus.”
