South Main Clinic

South Main Clinic

South Main Clinic (SMC) is an interprofessional clinic whose mission is to provide high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective care to the underserved and at-risk families in the Salt Lake community.

South Main Clinic was established in 1995 by the University of Utah, Department of Pediatrics, Woman and Child Institute in partnership with the Salt Lake County Health Department. The close alignment of South Main Clinic’s mission and the mission of the PA division and program, to care for the underserved, provided a natural pathway for the PA Division to collaborate with SMC to expand services. In 2015, the Division of Physician Assistant Studies partnered with SMC to add adult medical care to the spectrum of services.

Staying true to the Division of Physician Assistant Studies’ mission and the PA Program mission, South Main Clinic is an example of our commitment to caring for the underserved and training the future PA workforce to become highly proficient, socially conscious and accountable medical providers.
